My husband is forbidden from speaking to or interrupting me when Highway Star is playing. Which is always loud and often. It grabs my soul. 70 years old here. Saw them in concert for the Machine Head album. Which I still have.

His guitar solos on Lazy, Strange Kind Of Woman, Smoke in the Water, Highway Star, and especially Child in Time, on the Live Made In Japan album are unmatched by anyone in my opinion on the best live album ever made.

What made Purple the best is that they had a lead guitarist, lead organist and lead drummer that were all virtuosos.
