  My grandmother raised me. She was the kindest, most loving, beautiful human I&apos;ve ever met. I was with her when her neurologist told her that she had beginning stages of Alzheimer&apos;s. &nbsp;Her first concern wasn&apos;t for herself. &nbsp;Right there, in front of her doctor, she took my hand and made me promise that I wouldnt put my life on hold to care for her. We had 8 more years together, and the moment she knew that she couldn&apos;t take care of herself any longer she demanded I took her to a Care Facility. She reminded me of my promise, so I HAD to let her go. It was the hardest thing I&apos;ve ever done. She died in 2017 and I miss her every single day.

By that logic, the ONLY person in the world who can ever claim to have trauma is whoever is experiencing the most extreme, outrageous, Omelas-style suffering, because they would gladly take the place of the second-most-extreme-suffering person in the world. Like, what?

  I haven’t spoken to my abusive bio dad in over 15 years and he constantly tried to play the victim card about it. He actually blocked me (because he didn’t realize his fb was public) after he put up on fb a pic of his arm where he used to have my name tattooed that was now covered up by a pic of one of his dogs and said that the reason we’re estranged is because my mom and grandparents poisoned me against him. I wrote as a comment, “that’s not accurate. The estrangement has more to do with you tying me up and making me eat meals I vomited up” and then he blocked me. I have zero regrets.

  One quick note. Abusive folks tend to assume everyone should think like them. They don&apos;t want to go to a care home because they assume others will abuse vulnerable people, just like they did to their own children.
