  I listen to you guys almost every day. My wife will ask me who I’m listening to and I always say the boys. Thanks for your daily content. I was married in that beautiful temple in 1984 and I can’t wait to go back. Before the temple was closed we went through one of the last live sessions and it was a honor to be the witness couple. I feel like we had a tender mercy being some of the last couples honored in that place.

  I reserved tickets and a hotel room for my family. I’m praying that by next summer, we will have the funds to pay for the trip. &nbsp;I believe God will provide a way, I want my children to see this once in a life time event. &nbsp;It is a leap of faith for me.

  My great-great-great grandfather, John R. Winder, was the superintendent in charge of getting the interior of the temple ready for dedication. It took 39 years to prepare the exterior, between laying the cornerstone and the capstone, leaving only one year to finish the interior to reach their 40-year goal. Even that was a massive undertaking, and some of the workers didn&apos;t think they could finish it in time. Some of the paint was still drying when the dedicatory prayer was said.

  Before our temple was built in Adelaide Australia, We used to drive for 24 hours to get to the Sydney Australia Temple once a year, spend a week in the temple doing sessions for our family and on our last day we would do all the sealings now I am only 30 minutes away and I get to go every week and be a temple worker. I love being in the temple and my mother and I went every week it was open. the temple was the last place I was able to take her before she past away from a brief illness in October 2024. It was my mother was actually got me interested in the Stick of Joseph podcast.

  This was a fantastic episode!!! &nbsp;It is so good to be reminded about the ENORMOUS sacrifices the early members of the Church made to build this temple. I appreciated hearing so many cool facts about the dirt under the temple, the foundation, and some of the temple symbolism. Thank you also for your strong testimony and invitation to make the temple a bigger part of our lives! You guys are doing a great work, keep it up!!🙌

  My ancestor was one of the first blacksmiths in the Salt Lake Valley. He sharpened the tools of the masons carving out the stone for the Salt Lake Temple.

  I live in British Columbia, Canada and can only go to the temple once a year. There is currently one temple that is located 9 hours from my home. Getting there requires gas, a hotel and time. We were told, however, that we can make our homes like the temple by doing family history work and keeping our covenants. I&apos;m very thankful for this gospel and hope someday to travel to the U.S. where I can attend the beautiful Salt Lake Temple!!
