The sword shown in the video is currently being crafted.
It will be approximately 15 cm in length and is known as a Futokoro-gatana, a small sword traditionally carried close to the body for personal protection.

Many people choose a Futokoro-gatana—such as business owners, professional athletes, and those who have recently welcomed a new baby—as a symbolic item to protect what is precious in their lives, including their wellbeing and their loved ones.

For inquiries or to place an order, please contact us at the email address below:
▶contact@suigenkyo.com

"Never losing focus until the very end—this is the essence of japanese craftsmanship" that phrase resume the true quality of japanese work 👌.

By the way, the precision he had to make that scabbard was so satisfying to watch 👍.

the attention to detail, patience, and thoughtfulness put into this craft is what i love about it. i would love to learn to do this and fall into the rhythm of the crafting process. not to mention the reward the maker must feel when you finish with a functional work of art that you can be proud of and know that others will be able to admire as well. well done. thank you for sharing

I recently made a wood scabbard for a fine replica English war sword. I had never done this before. I had no instruction or experience. It was a very difficult process. I used the same process of hollowing out the two halves of the red alder stock to match the blade. I believed my results were quite good considering my situation until this video showed me what a real craftsman can accomplish. To see the perfect fit of the brass fitting support the blade and it not touching the inside of the scabbard is truly remarkable. I am pleasantly humbled.
