Akaza didn't understand why people apologized for things outside of their control, then spent his final moments apologizing for something he couldn't control.

Akaza was also granted reincarnation because he never chose to become a demon, he specifically told Muzan "I don't care"

Physiologically, Douma was the perfect obstacle for the mark, as his Blood Art froze the lungs and the environment, preventing Shinobu's body from reaching the 40 degrees Celsius necessary for awakening.

1:18:00 Ubuyashiki intentionally dressed all of his children alike to keep them safe. He only ever revealed two children at a time, so no one actually knew how many children he had. On the night Muzan visited him, he deliberately sacrificed two of his children to ensure the others survived as a backup for the future.

We know that demons have wiped out the Demon Slayer Corps multiple times throughout history, yet the Ubuyashiki family has always survived. Even if everyone had died at the Infinity Castle, the remaining Ubuyashiki children could have gone into hiding and, with the help of retired Hashira and former Demon Slayers, trained a new generation of slayers.

I know some people would question at first on why Tanjiro yells at Akaza that he's gonna behead him instead of utilizing silent sneak attack but after seeing Akaza's backstory, what Tanjiro did was actually good because Akaza despises sneaky, underhanded moves. Had Tanjiro ambushed him from behind, it would have highly offended Akaza, triggering a surge of anger that could have overwhelmed the exhausted Tanjiro and Giyu. And what Tanjiro did also ensured a fair fight and prevented Akaza from unleashing an even stronger, rage-fueled counterattack. Because Tanjiro announced his presence, Akaza also recognized that Tanjiro "beat" him fairly and squarely in open combat without on a dishonorable backstab.
