Hey there thanks for stopping by.
A few disclaimers.
1: some sources on here may not have provided images to those associated with the events, hence some of the images are very scarce and hard to come by, such people as Doug and Isabel Wilson, Marty Johnstone, Andrew Maher and a few others.
2: it has been pointed out to me that one of the images of James Bazley is actually DOUG WILSON, with limited sources of images of him it was hard to determine who was who, apologies for any confusion.
3: I forgot to link a video in this description of a video that I mentioned in the video: The Australian Mafia ,link: https://youtu.be/3hcKeXnDsmA

My Dad grew up an used to walk to school with Terry Clark when they were kids. He once said how he (Terry) was often unhappy as a kid and that there was something not right at home (Before it became a TV series and looked cool it was story of how someone can become something you don't ever want to become). He grew into a liar, then a compulsive liar then a manipulator then generally someone to avoid at parties later on around Gisborne. He used to be my uncles dealer then used him for something that went wrong. Dad's impression of him and the things he did was way worse than in the TV series.

My mums sister dated Mr Asia when she was a in her 20s, mum recalls having phones tapped, cars following the family around, just heaps of sketchy stuff. Apparently it was quite scary

I'm Terry's son Rob, there is so much that has been left out about this , the ramifications for myself and my family, the abuse , suffered by my mum , and myself at the hands of my dad or the people who were ' in the business ' is still felt today ...if you don't believe what I have written, I don't really care if you do or you don't, I know what I have been through and seen as a child...thanks anyway...Rob

sadly it's becoming far worse today, after I come home from overseas in 78 I actually couldn't see far clearing about the huge drug culture in my beloved country, 8 year's later I was disturbed by the criminal fraternity running the small towns, but the shocking thing was the police were but walking slowly behind the criminal fraternity, again it's now partly due to the ex aussie 501 criminal fraternity coming home supposedly so, sadly it's not looking good,

Funny how programmes like this remind you of your youth. I went to an all girls school with Isobel Wilson (Lawrence in those days) and my husband went to school with Marty Johnstone. Just ordinary kids like we were. This was big news in those days and the start of NZ being introduced to drugs in a massive way.

Stumbled across this rather randomly, I am a close relative of one of the founders and grew up around it although I was young at the time. I guess it is easy to almost romanticise the lifestyle that the wealth from the syndicate brought but the reality of being close but not involved ( I was way to young ) is very different. It broke my family and brought unwanted attention not only by the Police but some very shady people and made life stressful with a great deal of paranoia, even as a young lad I felt this and although I didnt follow in the footsteps it still has had a impact that I feel today. Great video and thanks for saying what you said at the end, it ruined lives, it cost many lives.

Many times over the years, I've viewed Terry Clarkes house at Marpua in the Bay of Islands.
The hole story is a bloody good read.
At some of parties held there that would burn $100 notes in the microwave. Back then the notes had metal stripes.

Note too. After that, heroin gradually ceased to be such a problem in NZ as it once had been.
