I love that Tristan immediately thought of a dinosaur, tristanosaurus 🦖. He might be an expert on Alexander and the Romans, but he’s still a dino loving kid at heart.

So interesting and explained in a way that the layman can understand without dumbing it down.

Human was & is an incredible series. Ella is one of the best presenters, she’s amazing and her enthusiasm is contagious! I wish I’d had school teachers with the same love of their subjects.

8:00 I never thought about "history is written by the victors" when it comes to us vs Neanderthals but that seems like exactly what happened when we started investigating then.

There were hominins on Crete 130,000 years ago before sapiens were in Europe, and toolmakers on Flores perhaps 700,000 years ago. Both settlements would have required sea voyages, since never in that period were the landmasses connected. The sea voyages could not have been accidental, as numerous individuals including females would have been necessary for sustained inhabitation. I heard of orangutans untying painters on rowboats in Borneo and making their way accross the river out of their protected area. There is no way Home erectus or Neaderthals were less clever than organgutans.

I found this channel recently. And as a history lover I enjoyed the video's with ella so much. Evolution is my favorite kind of hystory to learn about. I get genuinely exited about it. And there is so much I never learnt in school. Now I want to know everything I can. I even feel like getting books about human evolution and all the discoveries.
