  Pinker makes the most important point here about AI “There’s no reason to expect that the intelligence itself will have the GOAL to dominate”. That’s the question and rationale that 99% of people commenting and forming ludicrously firm options on this haven’t considered.: Why would a bunch of bits and bytes have any desire or motive to do anything at all. It’s a machine it’s not sentient. &nbsp;<br><br>The danger doesn’t lie with the technology itself but with the flawed or self-motivated human who sets it on its path.

  Pinker is one of those people who only gets listened to because the public has no awareness how completely and utterly ridiculously wrong he has been about the neural network field for his entire career. Look at &nbsp;&quot;On Language and Connectionism&quot; — Pinker &amp; Prince, 1988, Cognition.
