The original "the taking of pelham 1-2-3" would be a great one from the 70's to do also. Pure NYC

Buddy Russo, after all this scary adventure, went into semi-retirement. He took a job as police chief in Amity Island, NY where he wanted to live a peaceful life without all the excitement.
There he often went fishing with an old fisherman named Quint and a young scientist named Hooper. And they all lived happily ever after.

At 11:19 you can see the construction of the Twin Towers underway. At 11:57 we are introduced to the FBI. That actor was actually a stunt car driver who was behind the wheel during the subway chase scene. Also he appeared in "Bullit"being chased by Steve McQueen in the most famous movie car chase.

The real "Popeye" was Eddie Egan, who plays the supervisor Simonson in this film, he was still an active NYPD Detective while acting in the film.

A shiv is a slang word for knife. When the junkie sliced Cloudy's arm with his knife, he was putting a shiv in him.
"Picking your feet in Poughkeepsie" was a routine Popeye and Cloudy developed. Cloudy would ask a suspect straight questions for information, but if they had any trouble with the suspect, Popeye would ask him nonsensical questions in a threatening manner, to disorient him. "Did you pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?" was one of those questions
