Black Market Created a Serious Problem for Hearthstone

I didn't realize the "percentage changed" number was relative to the previous day's price. I had assumed there was a base price that was being adjusted up and down.

it didn't happen to me, but the possible compounding increase in prices is absolutelly ridiculous. someone on blizzard should have realized very soon that making it "truly random" (with no cap), especially on so many players, could be really frustrating for the unluckyest 10% or so.

As soon as I got Taelen I stopped playing immediately. Bogus he went up to 7200 bloodstones so I felt forced to play every single day to get him

Talking from my point of view, I play exactly the same as before doing daylies and weeklies, not forcing myself to play more as I don't really care about getting enough bloodstones for all the cosmetics, only interested in the packs and I will see what I have left at the end of it

For me , i havent really even noticed this as a negative of any form, i always play ranked every season until legend, then i play a little less, but with the timing of the black market, i havent felt being forced into playing standard ranked. Today i claimed my final reward so i now own every item on the shop.

I had no problems personally. I was oblivious to how price fluctuations work - i thought each day they were x% more or less than the base price, not the previous price, they just happened to be random in my favor. I don't play much more than ranked standard or wild. I used to play a lot of casual wild, but now i can't really build a "fun deck" and expect to win any games with it, you either die on turn 3 or die to an OTK later. Arena is what it is, they pretty much killed it for me, just like any other mode that isn't the main one.
That's why i think more digital card games need custom lobbies with custom rules and custom formats. MTG has a million formats, commander started as a community format and now half the cards that come out are designed for it. Shadowverse is trying to do something like that, but they're afraid to give players enough freedom, maybe understandably so as it would result in less incentives to spend. Granted, i read about it over half a year ago last time, maybe it's either improved or abandoned.

It’s such a shame when you consider the potential deck variation the current Standard environment has.
This pressure pushes most players to not deviate and experiment with archetypes and decklists that hold a decent winrate rn.

Also, AFK farming is a clear indicator of an unhealthy grind system.

Since I'm back in my honeymoon phase with hearthstone, I've been playing every day for the last few weeks anyways. I got lucky and everything stayed somewhat around it's base cost, and i got everything a couple days ago. The frustration I felt was: If I wanted to keep playing, I couldn't get any kind of bonus for playing passed the max earnings. And that if I went on a losing streak and didn't want to keep playing, I would lose out on the remaining bloodstones for that day.

Hearthstone's been trying to get us to play Ranked more and more for years. The day the "Play 10 Ranked games" weekly quest was changed to "Win 5 Ranked games" was the first sign, and it was on a downward spiral ever since.

I just play the 9 afk matches everyday. Playing against warrior feels like playing against a deck that got smuggled from wild. I also don't want to craft warptooth.

I don't need everything in the store, 1 skin and packs is enough. But I have noticed how this has really gotten people hooked. People talking about it online, clearly wanting to optimize it similar to gacha games with daily logins. I feel like that's a bad direction, away from the actual cards.

The events are the main reason I play more than usual. This event had the opposite effect on me, thanks to the high price of something like the legendary card, black market was over to me once I claimed the packs.
