  Finally, someone has pointed out the connection between Ancient Egypt's New Kingdom and the rise of Punk Rock in London during the late 1970s. I have been patiently waiting for this issue to be addressed.

  I believe the iconic bust of Nefertiti is completely with the concept of a state  portrait, which manifests several strands of depiction, one being the need to project the ideology of  divine rulership and legitimacy while at the same time depicting an idealized portrait of the sitter. It is really not much different from a celebrity portrait which uses filters and manipulation to create an idealized image for public comsumption.

  Concerning the inspection and settlement of the excavated artefacts: &nbsp;It was Gustave Lefebvre (1879 - 1957), the well-known French egyptologist who worked as an inspector of antiquities for the Sultanate of Egypt (i.s. for the Egyptian Superintendency for Antiquities) in the 1910s, who approved the export of the Nefertiti bust to Germany. &nbsp;Lefebvre decided against the bust as he preferred to keep other finds such as papyri and the &quot;Stela of Akhenaten and his family&quot; (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stela_of_Akhenaten_and_his_family).

After hearing this, I understood everything! I would, however, still love to see more coverage of Nefertiti. I find her fascinating. I wish we knew more about her during this pivotal time.   Nefertiti was Akhenaten&apos;s the grand daughter of Yuya and Thuya. She was Tiye&apos;s neice and either the daughter of Ay and Tey or Anen.

  It was said in the Fall of Akhenaten podcast &nbsp;by Aidan that he believed the KV55 mummy was probably Smenkhare not Akhenaten. If the KV55 mummy has been identified DNA wise as the father of Tutankhamun then that would mean Smenkhare was Tut&apos;s father . Frustratingly in the earlier podcast this line of reasoning was not articulated or followed up . So how does Aidan negotiate this &nbsp;? Very interested to know or is it covered in other podcasts &nbsp;?

  Imo nefertiti &nbsp;looks like Sofia Loren. I copied that thin liner and terracotta makeup look on myself. Nefertiti is pretty. I think that is why Akenaten married her. &nbsp;I like the hosts pink earrings.

  It is presumed that Pharoah Ay was Nefertiti&apos;s father. if the younger lady is not her, could she be buried near her father?
