  After having worked at Johnson Controls from 1983 up until 2020 I can tell you for a virtual certainty that the batteries I made use the same exact technology from One battery to the other, the only difference being the number of plates. This applies to all traditional lead acid batteries. AGM is a whole different breed of cat. In the 1990s we went from a cast lead plate to having the positive stamped from a sheet of lead and the negatives were what we called expanded metal and the quality went downhill from there. What they don&apos;t tell you is batteries are designed to fail not long after the warranty expires. When I first got hired it was a point of Pride that some Interstate batteries were 15 years old and still working

  I just cancelled my curbside order for an Everstart Maxx and bought a Super Start Extreme because of this video. I bought the Everstart after watching your video from 6 years ago and didn’t see this one until almost too late!

  Lead acid batteries used to be sold as 2 items, the battery and the battery acid in a bottle. &nbsp;This allowed a battery to sit on the shelf a long time without degrading. &nbsp;Buying a brand new battery with a sub 90% SOH is outrageous.
