  Because of that, child marriage is still going on all around in Islamic countries and it is some of the most disgusting things I know.

  I was already married when I learned about Aisha’s age. Even my husband, who has a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, somehow wasn’t aware. When I asked him about it, he, like you, said “There’s no way. That’s not true.” <br><br>We don’t hear that growing up. I had Khadijah’s age mentioned to me countless time. “Oh she was a business woman, she was great and OH did you know she was OLDER than the prophet??? How amazing!” <br><br>Nobody tells you about how remarkable Aisha was and then stops and says “Oh and how cool is it that she was so young - only 9 - when her marriage with the prophet was consummated? How amazing.” They hide it because they know it’s indefensible, but that doesn’t stop them from trying to defend it when confronted. My husband told me if the prophet did it, it couldn’t have been wrong. We fought about it. I’d ask him if somebody could marry our daughter so young and he’d say “Of course not!” The arguments would end with him admitting he didn’t have good answers for my questions and saying he would research more and explain it to me. He never could. <br><br>I’m sure it’s different for men, but growing up as a girl, I was always told how amazing Mohammed’s wives were and told I should be like them and of course, follow Mohammed’s example as well. I didn’t question this. I believed to be a good woman and wife someday, I had to use the prophet’s wife as role models. I only found out Aisha’s age when I started to ask “How come I don’t know the age of any of his wives besides Khadijah?” I got curious, I looked up their ages and that’s when I found Aisha was a child. <br><br>Growing up, I always heard how great Aisha was and how she memorized the Quran and contributed so much to Islam, even after Mohammed’s death. And I still never heard that she was so young when she married him. They conveniently leave that part out, but will never neglect to mention that Khadijah was older than Mohammed when they discuss Khadijah.

  I learned about it the first time when I was 9 because I remember thinking wait, how? IM NINE YEARS OLD and im definitely way too young to get married. I was horrified and terrified at the same time.

  Also back in Muhammeds time girls got their puperty a lot later than girls do today. Nutrition was very different. A 9 year old girl would be less physically mature back then. <br><br>Girls in medieval England got their first period on average about 14-17 years old. Today it is 11.

  Your argument around 10 minutes that &quot;they did not know any better&quot;. This is simply not true. &nbsp;The Byzantine empire at the time had an age of consent and marriage of 13. And the Persian Empire allowed mariage from 9 but only on condition that consummation was delayed till &nbsp;12. (Source C. Baugh &quot;Minor Marriage in Early Islamic Law&quot;). So there were laws against intercourse with 9 year olds with the two dominant empires at the time. <br>Soranus (Roman Empire doctor from ephesus who worked in Alexandria and Rome ) wrote 400 years before Muhammed about the medical dangers of early pregnancies.

  In Mormonism a prophet gave a baby a blessing and then married her as a plural wife like 15 years later and it reminds me of this! Thanks for sharing!

  Ex Muslim too. I have seen a few ex Muslim YouTubers. I usually watch a few of their videos and become tired of their approach. They seem hateful and seem to want to spread that hate but with you, your approach is always with so much decency without prejudice and bias. Don&apos;t change please!

  Yes, it still exists today. Have you heard about an eight year old girl in Yemen who died on her wedding night? Forced marriages are also rampant in the middle east.

  If Aisha matured so quickly that by the age of 6 she was as mature as say a 16 year old, there would be many stories about this wonder child who could speak full sentences at barely a year old,no؟

  on a personal note , &nbsp;i had 2 muslim male friends come &nbsp;home with their wives and kids &nbsp;, say to each other :<br>&quot; If Prophet Muhammad came right now into my home , i&apos;d give my 4 yr old daughters to him , to gain janath&quot; <br>I never quite understood how people can barter off their young girls , in order to gain heaven and avoid hell. Its like , u r making a deal to get yr Janaah, one way or another. <br>So u sell yr soul fr heaven at da cost of yr own kids &nbsp;&amp; even Hafez of da Quraan , &quot;my son or daughter will b able to take 7( not sure of da no)into paradise, Masha Allah!&quot;<br>Soo u say u love Allah ( the One True God ) but u selling yr soul to get into heaven , so everything u do in Islam is not fr yr love of God ,neither humanity, <br>its to get into heaven at all costs and stay out of hell. &nbsp;Selfish, only to save yrself and has nothing to do with LOVE, real love is none threatening with punishment.<br>I always thought , this has nothing to with yr soo called love fr God, its a selfish need to get into heaven . And its disgusting that u wud barter yr kids off like this.

  Please do a video on gaslighting as the seventh pillar of Islam. I remember being gaslit about this when I was a child, told that Aisha and the other wives were examples of perfect women I should strive to emulate, told that allah is a just god and all muslims are equal, while simultaneously saying that women count as less than a man. It was traumatic growing up with it all!

  the mother of Jesus was more than double the age of Aysha when she gave birth (around 16), and it was 600 years before Islam.<br>Quoting the Bible only makes them look worse.<br><br><br>btw you are doing amazing work Aladdin :)<br>one of the most insightful channels for sure, you deserve a larger following!
