  The best British dishes and pudding, are the ones past down from generations to generations. That keep you warm and hearty in the cold winters. Like bread and butter pudding, ham and egg pie. Maybe rhubarb crumble, or shepards pie. Not the rubbish that's served up today in 'fast food restaurants' etc.

  The &quot;British food is bland or bad&quot; idea comes from US soldiers stationed here in WW2 when Britain was experiencing food rationing, so we didn&apos;t have a lot of food or choice of different foods.<br>We do work hard but have a work life balance ! We work to live, not live to work.<br>Why am I hearing the word &quot; metric&quot; everywhere now? And it&apos;s not even talking about the metric system!

  Out dated and old fashioned: The reason we can&apos;t use window AC units is because we use modern windows that are secure and not sash windows from 300 years ago. 🤪<br><br>There&apos;s a street in Somerset that was built in the 1300s and the houses built between then and the early 1400s. Of the original 42 identical homes, 27 still exist (some were merged into single properties). Those houses are still lived in to this day. That&apos;s an entire street of houses (and Cathedral) that predate Columbus reaching the Americas. It&apos;s called Vicar&apos;s Close if you&apos;re want to read more about it. <br><br>Imagine thinking the country that started the industrial revolution don&apos;t work hard.

  As a British armed forces veteran I have eaten at many US armed forces canteens and the food was the most bland I have ever eaten.
