Watching these recreationally is fun because now if someone plays the scotch game I’ll be like “I know there’s things I’m supposed to do but I’ve completely forgotten what they are.”

I like these videos and the ones where you try to play a particular opening in every game. They are very instructive. You are a excellent teacher. My rating and more importantly my knowledge and understanding has improved significantly since I started watching your videos going on two years ago. Thanks Nelson!! Your channel is by far my favorite chess channel on YouTube.

watched this and shortly afterwards i reached 1200 for the first time then had the internet cut out during a completely won game to get to like 1230 which sent me into a spiral of losses until at 1170 i come up against someone who did everything to fall into the queen trap and resigned when i did them with it, it was beautiful

Just played a scotch game after watching this video yesterday. Black queen took on B2 and walked right into the Queen trap. Then resigned shortly after. Love the videos Nelson!
