  Love how all the people talkimg about employing Gen Z talk about a lack of professionalism basically, then refuse to do things that would actually make it worthwhile in the long run. Corporate sucks but it's intitutional therefore set in stone, says the person who has been there for years and is mostly secure in their position.

  Being a millennials, it goes beyond our generation for reals. It the baby boomers, they are over spoiled generations, and now flip the script on to the rest of the other generation. Generation X seem to be following baby boomers mind sets lately.

  My main problem with gen z is their lack of respect for time, be it theirs or others. I swear, EVERY gen z I've worked with NEVER felt guilty for coming in late. If anything, they act like everyone else is weird for coming in on time or god forbid, early.

  As an elder Gen Z I think the lack of professionalism for the workplace is because we weren’t particularly taught about it. For instance while we had dress codes we were led to believe eventually we wouldn’t have worry about in future and it will be outdated. Flash forward to now and in the workplace it’s essential to dress a certain way. Now that I’m in teaching it’s considered the teacher’s fault if they can’t understand a soft spoken student or if they don’t speak coherently. So they might struggle communicating in the workplace place, much less land an interview.

  I won’t live to see retirement age purely for physical reasons, because they’ll keep pushing the retirement age further and further back, since if my entire generation retires, my country’s economy will fucking collapse.

  I started at a Printing company in 2017 in a new field. I took a pay cut and worked a night shift and the people I worked with trained me. I am still in this field today now in a Senior position and it thanks to all the Senior Operators who took the time to train me the correct way. Some companies used to prefer a blank slate to work with, no old habits, they train you exactly the way the company operates. You have to have a willingness to learn and also take an undesirable shift or pay cut just to get your foot in the door.
