I've been traveling to Thailand for over 20 years. This is all good advice. The only thing I would add is that you should always choose an ATM located in a bank, not one in a public area like the street or a shopping mall. The risk that the machine has been tampered with by a skimmer is lower at the bank, due to the regular presence of a security guard.

Another tip I always use, withdraw 19900 baht instead of 20000 baht.
Then you have plenty of change and that’s always helpful in Thailand 🇹🇭 😊

Dear all, Cal I respect you because you’re one of rarest YouTubers that speak without BS. On this I want update you all as follows:
-let’s be clear and update all YouTubers blogs on best ATM to withdraw money. I went all Big C and Tesco Lotus Mall (biggest) as per AI and I visit a AEON counter. Imagine that AEON bank has No ATM machines in BKK meaning the service was suppressed. At big malls from Big C and Tesco Lotus there are ATM’s 1 one in color light blue (no sponsored not revealing banks no advertisement) and another one same color as AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited different bank name. At Big C Supercenter Ratchadamri in BKK is same.
Then I try to withdrawal money and see fee, guess what 250 Thai Bath not 220 as YouTubers state. This is fact check for free no sponsorship of course totally against fake news. Peace be with you all🙏

Two things I do to head off any skimming activity on my debit card:
1) Keep it "locked" until I need to use it and lock it immediately after I get the cash. You can do that in your bank's app.

2) As soon as I get back to the U.S., I report my debit card lost. The bank sends a new one with a new number, and I never have to worry about that card again.
