This is awesome if you don't have much space. I'm a person who declutters regularly. I have seen a lot of tours of tiny Japanese apartments on yt. As an ambulatory wheelchair user and a curious person, I always wonder how people with disabilities live in Japan.

Floating shelves give the illusion of more space, but it's not usable space, and it's more floor to dust and mop, plus losing the bottom shelf of a cabinet or bookcase means less storage. I guess if illusion is what you're after it's ok- I'd rather have a little less floor to clean and more storage for the same space. 🤷 A bookcase doesn't 'eat into your walking space' more than floating shelving, unless you're very very short. I can see how it would make a difference to a chihuahua tho. 🐕🙃

According to feng shui you never should put anything under a bed, it blocks energy flow. All different sources give different information... BTW: I don't think Japanise people use beds. They put matrasses on the floor.
