As a South African who's lived in Ghana for couple of years,I must admit that it wasn't easy. I only relocated there due to my husband's company. I can't imagine what it's like for an American but as an African it was extremely hard for me to settle there. I think one of the most critical things we miss when choosing a country is looking into the host country's education and health sector. It always made me nevous to think what would happen should anything happen to me or my family. Ghana's healthcare sector really needs some work because there were a number of times that made me question the qualifications of their healthcare workers. I don't want find myself in that situation ever again. It was one of the main reasons I left Ghana. My husband visited SA a year ago, he's a non South African. I called the emergency service the day he wasn't feeling well. The ambulance arrived within a few minutes, rushed him to the emergency care unit. They took good care of him. He couldn't believe that such exists in SA. He was really impressed and we both decided to return to SA
