Yep, my husband tried that. I made it clear that I was done and then he magically became Prince Charming and suddenly knew how to be a husband after being married for almost 18 years. No thanks, I'd rather be alone.

I used to notice with my narcissist, that the harder I tried, the worse they treated me. But, the times I would really put my foot down, (and they knew I meant it,) they would do a total 180 and be nice to me. Before realizing they were a narcissist, I used to think... what kind of person is only good to you when you give them your worst? How backwards! The commentary in this video explains why that is. It's about control, because they don't want you to leave. Leaving was the best thing I ever did.
