It's not the size of the dog in the fight.
It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Despite being small, Flitwick had big fight in him.

The comment that McGonagall makes when Neville repeats his grandmother's rhetoric that it's a weak subject is particularly revealing about how powerful charms spells are.

Will someone please remind me why he was portrayed as a very old, white haired man in the scenes from the first movie, but looked at least 20 years younger with dark hair in other scenes?

Flitwick reminds me of my grandfather who fought in WWI. He was MAYBE 5'2" and his forearms were huge and hard from working with bricks.
He had a 6th grade education, but knew enough about American labor history to teach a seminar.
He was fighting for workers' rights back when it was illegal.
During the Red Scare, he was furious that veyeram working men were being accused of being communists. I remember hearing him say, oh, they came around, just like the G-men, but all any of us needed to do to I.D. one was to take his hand. They were too soft to have e er worked a hard day in their lives. PLUS, those guys were the only ones willing to take care of the union membership books.
His favorite saying was, "The size of the dog in the fight doesn't matter. What matters is the size of the fight in the dog."

You've heard about the half-blood prince, but you never asked about the half-height prince.

because magic do not ask you to be tall or strong , just smart , and if you are dwarven or near , maybe you have more reasons to be the good wine in small barrel like tyrion , little man , big brain
