Have you noticed that in surrounding himself with the ultimate combat and antipsychic force, the Emperor has surrounded himself with those most capable of killing him if they didn't agree with his aims?

He even trains them in attempting to kill him, under the guise of security testing.

If GW expanded the SoS to have their own assault marine or repentia equivalent, then no one would be mad. But that would require GW to make new miniatures for a faction that isn’t marines or guard.

Like the sisters of battle there is plenty to build a faction and army out of here and almost certainly will have to sit on the bench like their predecessors did. Thanks for the built in moment of silence to morn this near inevitability.

I think there is a very good lore reason for how the Sisters of Silence were able to grow and equipt their numbers without anyone noticing. The Custodes. With their close connections it wouldn't be a surprise that the Custodes played a part in ordering the gear for them because who is going to question the Custodes on why something is being ordered? Then shipping it to the Sisters Luna base where it then gets sent out as classified or dangerous so noone questions what it is. That all makes sense to me with how the Imperium works.
