"Why, Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world... but for Wales?". A fantastic line, which can be delivered by an actor in so many ways, with different tone and meaning - anger, sarcasm, bitterness, sadness, etc. But the way Paul Scofield says "but for Wales" is the pinnacle. Just the way he says it -- emotion without bitterness -- captures More's character entirely.

Thrilled that this masterpiece is finally getting a reaction. After writing the original play Robert Bolt when on to write Lawrence of Arabia and Dr Zhivago for David Lean. One of my favorite screenplays and such mega actiing. It’s lessons of personal integrity are more important now than ever.
