  Admiral, it is a tradeoff.  Readiness maybe affected, but so is knowledge gained that the US drastically needs to increase missile stockpiles.  A medium power like Iran has limited ammunition compared to China, but it caused the US to burn through a lot of stockpiles.  The US has gained experience fighting in drone intense combat zone.

  There are two things the admiral forgets about "Europe not paying its fair share of NATO":  it allowed the US to set the geopolitical agenda from 1990 until 2025. So he can piss off with his magnanimous offer to Europeans of a 24-hr snit before joining a stupid war of choice.

  There is no way it’s prewar levels,  13 million barrels is the highest but that was only for a couple days, if you average it out it’s probably around 9 million barrels a day, still less than 1/2, Saudi is losing a million or 2 barrels a day, the US SPR will run out in January.

  Never underestimate the power of greed. If President Trump can get the Houthis to do his bidding, MBS will sign Abraham accords and UAE and Saudi Arabia will under the Board of Peace of which Donald Trump is lifetime president with unchecked authority control all Gulf oil exports and incidentally Venezuela. Which means there will be no reason to fight China. We will do to them what he is doing to Iran. Unless, china should decides to invade Siberia instead of Twain. At which point we will have nuclear war or Putin will submit to then former President Trumps terms.  This may fail but it's definitely worth the loss of Congress in the mid terms.
