  The “military” doesn’t do the strategic logistics procurement. The regime has fired innovative senior flag officers and units designed to meet the new challenges. That trend will continue with sycophants being promoted.

  I think one of the things that people are underselling when talking about where to go from here vis-a-vis alliances is trust. 2016 was an aberration, 2024 established a pattern. Our traditional allies are now and will continue to recalibrate how they view alliance with us and have to price in the inherent risk that we have shown that they're susceptible to. This isn't going to be what Joe Biden tried to do in 2020 and come back as if everything is all cool now. This is going to have to be a generation long effort of rebuilding trust and that's if the next republican president doesn't decide to go for round 3 of destabilizaiton.

  I've harped on the electric power issue since forever, but it seems Ukraine now has the capability to wipe out Russian gas fired powergen, or at least deprive it of fuel, which is the same thing. Bomb the pipeline hubs in Siberia, and that's two fifths of Russian powergen, and who knows how much space and DHW heating. Pretty hard to run a war with no power.
