  This legendary album is only like 45 minutes long. Take the time and sit down with no distractions and listen to it in one sitting. It's a masterpiece.

  The greatest ending to an album in rock history! Somebody convince me otherwise. The Beatles medley is the only thing that comes close.

  The masterpiece album  was in your American charts for 20 years. It's in the record books. People will be listening to this in 100 years like people listen to Beethoven now. Amen.

  The whole album covers different aspects of modern pressure. The band had the shadow of founder member Syd Barrett hanging over their thoughts and conscience for many years. Syd was the key band member in their formative 1960's period but he got into LSD which pushed him over the edge, and they collectively decided his behaviour and erratic performances were holding the band back. There's a line in there directly referencing things from Syd's perspective, 'and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the Moon'. He couldn't connect with his bandmates anymore and was becoming detached and withdrawn. You spotted the connection to 'Loonies' from 'lunar',  there was once the belief that full moons were thought to bring on wild traits in those vulnerable to it's effects.  The myth of werewolves has the same origins. The dark and the light sides of the moon I believe are metaphors for opposite sides, covered in other songs on the album: mental illness and sanity, war and peace, life and death, rich and poor,  relaxation and pressure, fame and obscurity.

  The lunatics are on the Grass is a reference to Keep of the Grass Signs.  They thought the sign was crazy

  These songs really hit deeper as a finale when listening to the entire album
