I recommend David Stick’s “The Outer Banks Of North Carolina,” 1958, University of North Carolina press. It covers 1584 to 1958.

I spent fond times along the NC coast for most of my life with the dream of one day living in Beaufort and it’s finally happening! I move in April 5th. I’m moving to help inspire my pirate fiction novel. I’ll definitely be at the museum for research!
