  My brother was on a carrier for 3 years.... He said the food was top notch.... Nothing but respect for our brothers and sisters in the military...

  I served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1972. I am humbled and proud of that service. Watching, however, the short films on YouTube about the Navy have helped me have enormous respect for the young men and women defending our country from ships, submarines and airplanes. That respect absolutely extends to the Marines. <br>Our country is going through an increasingly chaotic period of change and all that we know and have believed is being subjected to questions and doubt. <br>I want to quote to these young people a statement that resonates with me and might with them as well. It is a statement we might not hear very often... a statement worth hearing. The historian Will Durant wrote it in his last book... called Falling Leaves. <br> <br>He said, &quot;Let us continue to complain, to demand, and to rebel; this, too, is part of our virtue. But as for me, favored and fortunate (and countless Americans might say the same), I should be the worst ingrate if I did not thank the fates that deposited me here between these seas, and within these liberties.&quot; <br> <br>God blessed America... Let us all earn his blessing.

  My dad served 21 years from 1961-1982, worked on a flight deck and talked about Navy showers. A few times while still enlisted but living at home, he’d yell “flight quarters”, “flight quarters” when the alarm went off. 😂

  I remember when the USS GERALD R FORD visited the Oslo Fjord in Norway. There was a traffic jam along the main roads because everyone wanted to see this huge aircraft carrier. Norwegians love to be visited by Americans We who work in the restaurant industry had a lot to do. but being visited by so many polite soldiers is just cool and we look forward to new visits
