  Just completed a 2-year tour on FORD as a Surface Warfare Officer, inlcuding her maiden deployment. She really is an amazing ship, as many shortcomings as she has. The speed, agility, C2 abilities, and defensive capabilities are truly unmatched. The Navy has many problems preventing the ship from reaching its full potential, all the tech is its #1 attribute and also #1 enemy. I wish her and all my friends on board a safe deployment!

  My nextdoor neighbor growing up was Foreriver shipyard where they built the USS Lexington the USS Wasp, USS Massachusetts and many other famous WW 2 ships, Newport News gets all the attention but we had a crane called Goliath, ironically painted blue and when they sold it and removed it they were worried if it dropped it would shake the earth so hard that the Foreriver bridge might collapse, I'm glad it didn't because in my day we used it for swimming and diving, jumping platform, they built LNG tankers in my day, 1960's,70's. We were the luckiest kids in the United States of America 🇺🇸🙏

  Hard to believe how advanced these new warships are - the size, the tech, everything is just insane. Definitely feels like naval warfare is changing big time

  A nice overview for what goes into an aircraft carrier.  It has already been on one deployment so the information is dated in some details.  One of those good enough for people through High School level that is not interested in the topic. (18 years old and younger)  Did a nice job of showing the major problems and how the solutions worked.
