I started off with a regal Supervan 3. It never let me down, When I was courting we used to go to London regularly from Barnsley , we always parked up at West Ealing and caught the train into the city.<br>It was a long drive back at midnight, but boy the times we had were great.<br>I then passed my car test and bought a Reliant Regal, that was a beauty, a lot stronger than the later Kitten. It too never let me down.

I had a Regal Supervan III. I had a 700 or 800cc engine, max speed 80 mph and struggled going up steep hills. But the rear seat could fold down and a learner could drive it so it was quite versatile. I could never get a radio to work, I guess because of the fibreglass body.

If it had one wheel at the rear and two in front, it would actually be a good car. It was bad. Not worth the price. And that's why they disappeared very quickly. <br>Shame, I actually liked the looks when I was a kid. I live in the Netherlands and heard of the legal loophole. Not sure if the same tax rules apply here. Most people over here joked that it was missing a wheel to cut construction costs.<br>Yes, we had them over here too. But there were lots of good budget alternatives. Some of them even still drive around now...
