Not to be dramatic, but every time you guys watch a queer show and are so supportive, I get filled with so much happiness knowing your children are in good hands. As a queer person myself, knowing you have this type of support from your parent(s) wether or not you actually are queer, it's an incredible feeling.

The restaurant scene with Rose, when she read his sexuality is a highly underrated scene. She approached it in such a delicate manner - she didn't push him to admit anything he wasn't ready to, but she gave him the chance to talk about it in a way that felt safe to do so. This is what every person needs, who is struggling. She wasn't upset or mad... she just recognized what was happening and reverted to supportive friend mode. Rose is a real one.

1:44:14 it is a Russian tradition to put a vodka and bread in place of a dead person during their funeral. The bread and vodka are meant as a symbolic offering for the deceased — like “food for the journey” to the afterlife.
The bread on top shows that the drink is not for the living, but for the dead. And this isn’t a banana bread, it’s rye bread, which is kinda more common among older generations of people in Russia(especially war veterans, or those associated with military in some way), because white bread used to be a luxury. So, this is a very heavy representation right here.
