  I must say, this series is the best thing I could have found rn. Your videos give me a new perspective on songs I already resonated with, but when you explain their deeper meanings it makes it even better. Please don't ever stop doing this!

  1) So cool of you to do what you did with Leave The City, especially since it&apos;s my favourite song of all time <br><br><br><br><br>2) For me, verse 1 talks about being tired of tending to this fire, a.k.a. contributing to vialism/dema in some way, feeling guilty about it, wanting stop and having knowledge, (which you think is really hard to obtain) that there is a way out of it, which could translate to some kind of addiction, most likely self harm, which feeds your depression and wanting to stop it and knowing you can, even tho it&apos;s hard.<br><br>The Chorus (They know that it&apos;s almost over) talks about how someone (Probably either the banditos or dema citizens) know how the cycle is almost over a.k.a. you being confident in the fact that you will soon get out of depression/addiction <br><br>The 2nd verse talks about the hope of Clancy (or any dema Citizen for that matter) having such low hopes for escaping the city, and them knowing and fearing that if said hope dies out completely, they will most likely submit to vialism and also being scared of leaving, since they don&apos;t know what&apos;s beyond the city walls. That translates to having very low hopes of having good mental health in the future, knowing that if it dies out you might commit suicide and being scared/not wanting to get healthy, which is something I&apos;ve seen in quite a lot of people recenty<br><br>The bridge is quite obvious and straightforward. &quot;In time I will leave the city, for now I will stay alive&quot;. When the time comes Clancy will leave the city, but for now he won&apos;t risk it and he&apos;ll try to stay alive and tolerate his life as is, that is procrastinating the improvement of your mental health or stopping an addiction, and deciding to continue it, live your life as is and it won&apos;t get worse<br><br>Verse 3: Future Clancy talks about how last year he finally decided he needed change, needed to Leave The City, he decides to do it, gets recaptured, tried again and succeeds (a.k.a., what happened in Jumpsuit and Nico and the Niners) but this year he is in trench and even tho he is far from home, he has the banditos by his side and he&apos;s happy with it. That translates to deciding your mental health has gotten way too out of hand, actually changing something about yourself, then maybe falling back or relapsing a bit, but later getting back on your knees and even tho you&apos;re far from your comfort you know you have your loved ones by your side and you appreciate it

  for me leave the city is both a metaphor for depression and a song to fans (kinda). i think the obvious of leaving the city (DEMA) but staying alive is dealing with a deep depression, and knowing one day you’ll push on through, but i think the ending has to do with the fans. having a rigorous touring cycle with blurryface/ers and being far from home, having the people in your life supporting you means you’re not alone :)

  in the lore leave the city is pretty obvious IMO, clancy saying he will leave again after being taken back into dema in the levitate MV. out of the lore it cpuld be 2 things to me, one being based around the line &quot;in time i will leave the city, for now i will stay alive&quot; meaning tyler wants to leave this world, or “the city”, same as the line in neon gravestones &quot;i could go out with a bang, they would know my name&quot;. it could also be seen in the exact opposite way which is how i interpret it. basically a cry to get out of a pit of depression and find a change of pace, going of of the lines &quot;the burning is so low it’s concerning&quot; and &quot;last year i needed change of pace&quot;, the city could be his mind, as you said dema was in the intro, and him leaving it is him escaping his depression.<br><br>thats my 2 cents on leave the city, its my favorite song tho so i have alot of thoughts on it
