  I think the main reason why shuck was so overwhelmingly popular was its presentation, v2 had a vibe that built up on suspense and emotion, while v5 had a vibe that built up on the chaos and fear which is really fucking cool when you realize that shuck is a heavily distorted dream/memory marvin had.

  Something interesting about Shucks to me is how the popularity of it ended up impacting SML itself. Not only did it make them reference the Secret Door again but it kinda made them more self-referential of their whole past in general. They make references all the time about their older videos and more specifically the Nintendo C&amp;D.

  one of the things i can appreciate from the existence of shucks is that a lot of talented animators that pop up out of nowhere just recreating the shucks cutscene with such high effort so close to the og cutscene

  While I think both are good, V5 is probably my favorite, though I like how they were able to sneak in Marvin’s old voice in the chair and chase part

  Shucks V5 is kind of a mess because of the stress the dev team had at that time since we HAD to release the song AND the mod, I agree with most of the criticism you have with it and all of it is gonna most likely be fixed in the remaster<br>Nice video though, it was pretty fun to watch! : - )<br><br><br><br><br>(also it’s Frikko not Frisko)
