  I hate that discourse of &quot;oh people are emotionally invested in this, therefore they&apos;re incapable of objective takes and lack media literacy&quot;, it always comes from arrogant people who think they&apos;re smarter than everyone else. This is what happened with Alex, he wanted so bad to be a contrarian because he believes this means he&apos;s smarter. Being emotionally invested does not mean to be wrong, quite the opposite, it means you can understand things others can&apos;t. <br>After Alex deleted the videos, at the beggining of his next review for Descendants 5 he made a whole animation about how his audience doesn&apos;t use their brains and refuse to ever be wrong and I just... the irony was too much for me.

  I did not see that Reel Rejects reaction but I am not surprised. A similar thing happened with Roxy in her reaction to Interview with the Vampire s3 (specifically episode 2). Basically there&apos;s a plotline where a main character, Lestat, was/is being groomed by his own mother. Their scenes are explicitly portrayed as uncomfortable and it&apos;s very clear that Lestat engages with her sexually because it&apos;s the only way that she shows him love/affection. Roxy however, couldn&apos;t get past her surface level disgust of incest and even said &quot;It doesn&apos;t turn me on. So why is it here?&quot;. The premise of this season is literally learning about Lestat&apos;s life and why he is the way he is... And yet she just doesn&apos;t consider what this might say about Lestat&apos;s character. She also expressed disappointment over this plotline because &quot;this is my sexy gay lover show&quot;... This is a show about cycles of abuse and toxic relationships between queer men btw. I swear to God they need to find new women for this channel.

  I stopped watching Tara&apos;s reaction less than halfway thru. It was so gross. Someone commented on their video that they give off total boy mom energy. They were both so captivated and enamored by Bear&apos;s practice speech in the beginning that he could do no wrong in their eyes after that. Definite ick. Reel Rejects is a great channel overall though and the other two posted reactions to this movie were spot on.

  I watched reel rejects videos pretty regularly but that reaction gave me such major ick that i havent touched that channel since. I dont even know why they cleared that video to be uploaded when the first obsession reaction they put up was perfectly fine 😭

  Tara from Reel Rejects? I always skip her reactions. Her being an actress herself but having a very surface level understanding of movies is awful to watch.

  That Reel Rejects review felt weird because it was like they were intentionally misreading the movie, like they were trying not to get it. Tara herself released a video on her channel afterward explaining herself, but it frankly changed the way I look at her, to be honest. Especially after the others on that channel got it right off the bat that Bear had taken this woman&apos;s autonomy away, and was the bad guy here, the &quot;obsessed&quot; one.

  Reel Rejects actually released three reactions, first is from Roxy, second is Tara, and lastly is from Greg (I forgot their reaction buddies&apos; names, is the other main guy named John?). Both Roxy and the other girl, and Greg and John understood that Nikki is the victim. It was Tara&apos;s and her reaction buddy that has such terrible takes.
