  Years ago I liked this guy at church and I asked God to have him call me. God said, I can’t have someone call you who doesn’t call Me. <br><br>Wow! I felt like God had her speaking to me, I’m 62 and years ago I told God I’d serve Him with or without a husband and for years I was ok with my singleness until this year I met a man and I had a different feeling about marriage not from my youth. Unfortunately, this guy is dating someone and I’ve asked God then why have you allowed me to desire him. I’ve come across men and never felt this way? It could be only to prepare me for the man He has for me. 🙏🏽

  45 seconds in and I feel very called out by her statement that when we say &quot;I don&apos;t think God has anyone for me&quot; it&apos;s a lie we tell ourselves for our protection.<br>It&apos;s a lie I often find myself saying, or tempted to say.<br><br>Because I&apos;m tired of the pain that comes from unfulfilled hope.<br>I&apos;m tired of the pain that comes when you muster up hope, and then it crashes down into discouragement.<br>I wish God would either clearly tell me that He has someone for me, or would clearly tell me that He does not have anyone for me. Either way, at least I would know.<br>Hoping for a relationship that He may or may not have in store for me has lead to so much frustration and pain. I wish I could just not care, or at least know whether it is or is not supposed to happen.<br><br>Please pray for me, random reader.

  Christian, Mia, I cannot thank you both enough. After your last episode, I did exactly what Mia said - started daily inviting God into the depths of my disappointment to heal me and started asking for my own promise. What happened shortly afterwards is hard to put into words, but as to effects - being vulnerable and open with God is suddenly so much easier. Recognizing the lies from the devil for what they are <b>and</b> rejecting them is suddenly so much easier. Asking God for my God-ordained husband <b>and</b> being confident of his actually existing is suddenly so much easier. Feeling Jesus near is easier. Still waiting on hearing my promise, I know life ebbs and flows, but I am just so grateful for the tearing down of this wall and for this opportunity to be truly, truly content in God&apos;s presence and bask in His love. Just thank you infinite times over.

  Listening to this again and the &quot;God wants to be kind to you&quot; is giving me life tonight. &nbsp;I&apos;m a 54 yr old never married and yes, disappointment is still present even when holding hope. &nbsp;How can it not? &nbsp;It is a long obedience in the same direction as Eugene Peterson would say. But the mindset of &quot;God wants to be kind to me&quot; is the better choice than &quot;God didn&apos;t chose this for me.&quot;<br>Yes, life is good... continuing to wait well and believe for the kindness of God toward me.
