  An offload is when you pass &apos;through&apos; a tackle i.e. during the process of being tackled. <br>A pop pass is a short pass made with a flick of the wrists, usually, as it &apos;pops&apos; out the hands. <br>When you pass just before you tackled it is still just a pass (but its done to shift the point of attack, as you&apos;ve fixed a man to tackle you and taken a player out of the defensive line).

  Finn Russell is not the fastest, but he has an amazing understanding of space, and more importantly, timing. He always seems able to find that critical quarter second to kick or pass at exactly the right time.

  It doesn&apos;t need to be an offload to be an assist. It doesn&apos;t even have to be a pass. Finn (10s in general) often kick for an assist.<br>Another great 10 would be Dan Carter.

  Couch Rugby has a good video called &quot;Rugby 101: Rugby positions explained - Fly-half&quot;, the second half of which follows Quade Cooper of the Queensland Reds around during a match, showing how he makes tactical decisions and directs the team even when he doesn&apos;t have the ball.<br><br>Other fly-halves you might want to look at: Dan Carter, Johnny Wilkinson, Danny Cipriani, Marcus Smith, Johnny Sexton. My hometown hero when I was growing up was David Humphreys of Ulster and Ireland. Unfortunately his best years were in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and he retired in 2008 before Youtube really got going, so available highlights videos are limited. I should probably learn to do video editing and put one together.

  The 14 you spotted doing some crazy stuff was Teddy Thomas. Brilliant attacking winger. Not the best defender but doesn&apos;t matter when he&apos;s that good at attacking. Should definitely watch his highlights.

  The 9 and 10 positions are similar in some ways, they are usually the smallest players on the pitch (apart from the odd winger) This fascinates me because there is a truism that a good big one beats a good small one, but most big one ones can&apos;t play these specific positions. &nbsp;Spatial awareness is actually higher in lower testosterone males, in particular something called ball tracking ability, which is why we have these slighter players in decision making position. &nbsp; <br><br>The key question in a game with so many players on the pitch is whether &quot;it is on&quot; or not, and if it isn&apos;t you don&apos;t run up blind alleys and you put your team in danger.<br><br>I had the fortunate , or unfortunate, to play against the great Welsh fly half Jonathan Davies, I had a look at him thinking I could eat him for breakfast as I was taller, faster, stronger (and I was a small player for rugby). &nbsp;I couldn&apos;t find him, I couldn&apos;t get close to him for most of the game.
