Most reactors miss the information we get about Kim's backstory.

The very first sign wasn't in the bar, too, of her loving that rush and superiority of sticking it to the rich, snooty guy of winning or coning them. In her mind, the first time Jimmy screwed with Howard the likeness looks and billboard scheme, she said, "You got to stop, or he'll give you a lawsuit."<br><br>But then, when Jimmy comes up with the elaborate billboard scene where he saves the guy—while using HHM trying to take down his billboard and performs the stunt—the wry smile she gives is the sign. She likes that Jimmy got his way, undoubtedly, without any holes, and sticking it to Howard.

One of the early hints of Kim's true nature is the scene where Jimmy tells her about fabricating evidence (the video with the pies). On first watch it seems that she is objecting to the immorality and illegality of what Jimmy did, but when you watch the scene again, you realize that she is only worried about getting caught.

I have never regretted avoiding intimacy when I've followed that instinct. I have regretted not following it many times.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8U8T_urzIs&t=225">3:45</a> agreed: “cold” isn’t the right word. She’s got callouses on parts of her soul, but she is undoubtedly passionate and not simply ambitious

I’ve seen (and agreed with) the analysis that Jimmy reminds Kim of her mom, and that makes him feel familiar and comfortable. But the part where you say it’s that she feels safe, letting her guard down with him, she can be herself and let go of control, and he won’t judge. That lands differently. I think that’s what I find so relatable about Kim. It’s weird how the most “dangerous“ people are the ones somehow easiest to trust with our truest selves.

I rewatch BCS, BB, Succession, TD season 1 because of the things you discuss. These shows are so adept at portraying human faults and foibles, yet making characters feel so real and heartbreaking. Just when you think youve peeled away all the layers, there's another underground parking garage of more layers. Thank you for your analysis, unlike Shiv Roy, i enjoy the underneaths.
