  She's not head chef material. She's not fast food cook material. She's "Welcome to McDonalds can I take your order" material. If she's asked to do more than 1 thing, she locks up like a statue. Even at McDonalds you have to manage the current and next 3 orders and the grill and the ingredient tubs. And for the boss to be bawling trying to comfort her? Gordon was right. She's not the boss, she's the friend.

  Perla's free ride was over and it was hilarious seeing her realize it in real time. It's hard for me to feel sorry for her when most of the time we see her she looks mentally checked out of whatever is happening.

  So apparently the restaurant closed in 2010, because about as soon as Gordon left, Laura went right back to doing what she'd been doing. She opened another restaurant later, and it also went under. Oh yeah, and guess what: she kept Perla around after all.

  The thing with Gordon is that if you're honest with him, he'll be less harsh with you. If you act like an arrogant or stubborn jackass to him, he will yell at you and not hold back his insults

  What the catering companies do around here is a storefront with prepacked food, that way they could focus on catering while still making some money on the side with just bulking the portions up a bit during cooking
