  Bob's shotgun was a single barrel 10 gauge. I've seen it.. That was about 53 years ago.

  Why would they reenact Billy’s escape SO inaccurately?! He went to the outhouse, where someone probably left him a hidden gun. When bell was returning him upstairs, Billy turned on him with a pistol he had hidden.

  After Billy's trail in Mesilla NM where he was sentenced to hang. The judge said you will hang till you are dead dead dead, Billy said you can go to hell hell hell. On the way back to Lincoln NM from Mesilla it was Pat and Sherriff Ollinger and he kept tonting Billy with his shotgun and Ollinger was a bully. Pat and Billy were friends and worked together on horse and cattle ranches in Texas prior to Pat being a lawman. When they arrived in Lincoln they say that Pat hid a pistol in the outhouse and Pat left Lincoln immediately (coincidence). Ollinger took two other inmates across the street for lunch and that's where Billy hatched a plan. He asked deputy Bell that he needed to go to the outhouse and on his way back up the stairs he pulled the revolver and turned around Bell got scared and turned and ran down the stairs where Billy shot him in the back. Ollinger heard the gunshots and ran back to the courthouse where Billy was waiting with Ollingers own shotgun killing him instantly.

  One thing  being a legend does, makes every thing you own  skyrocket ! A few years ago an auction had the tintype , a  tiny thin piece of metal ,about 1 1/8" x 2", the  ONLY authenticated photo of William Henry Antrim, "BtK",  that shows  his revolver on his  left ~ but it is printed reversed !   Look at the vest buttons, wrong side for a man ! Also ,it appears you see his  Winchester rifle's left side, and the loading side-gate. Winchesters always had the  loading gate  on the right side. So Billy was right handed ! Anyway ,  that tintype  sold for 2.3million dollars !!!!

  Don’t forget James Earp owned a saloon in Tombstone at that time also, his wife took on the money part of the business.

So that was quite the haul for the robbers.<br><br>At <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3bNhwoRfPs&amp;t=818">13:38</a>, the $3,600 Wells Fargo reward is $115,000 in 2025 dollars.
