In 1976 i met a 100+ yr old man here Durango Colorado. He was visiting showing his wife where he was from. They were staying at a guest ranch where i was a wrangler with my brother. He was born at a trading post about 70 miles west Durango that his parents ran. Butch lived out here and did business at the trading post (I live out that way now) before he robbed The Telluride bank. After, being on the run from the law, he would "Rob" the trading post for supplies. After "robbing" them, so they wouldn't getvin trouble for helping an outlaw, he would "accidentally" drop a bag of money worth way more than the supplies. I live in a cabin out here that the first doctor out here lived in. At the same time Butch was here. Im laying in bed right now wondering if he ever came in here. When Robert and Paul were filming the movie here they stayed at freinds ranch. I of course was outa the area at the time and missed it all. Friends said they were both great people and fun to be around.

Mr. Redford certainly justified his existence a hundred fold …..and left us some highly entertaining films in his wake ….. I miss him …..I know I most likely , always will ……

I saw this documentary for the first time today but I remember reading about it when I was 15 in the National Geographic. Redford was a good actor, what a great director. I wonder if he was a painter. So many of his movies he directed shot by shot could have been put on canvas. I will always respect him for his work in environmental protection. The old ranchers in this documentary remind me of my granddad and the other old folks in my family. One of my great aunts did the family tree and was supposed to bring it to a family reunion in OKC. Everybody said Aunt Cookie where's the family tree? She said I burnt it. She started crying and said all I could find were Indians and outlaws Indians and outlaws!

I vaguely remember watching this as a child. My grandfather grew up not far from Robber's Roost, so there was a familial connection to Butch Cassidy. We even went there one summer. It's so cool to see this!

How have I never seen this program?<br> OutstandingRecord of what it really must have been like. And to have Robert Redford tell the tail is amazing.

I live in this country. Not far from South Pass City/Atlantic City WY. Been to many places in this film. Mr. Redford was always a bit of a hero to me growing up watching his films with my dad.
