The pinnacle of pedagogy. This is physics taught at its finest!

    OK.

Professor Diaz, I can say that your videos have wonderful replay value. I can now see why professors across the United States are showing your lectures to students in introductory physics classes.

I am re-watching this video right now.

It takes very special people with a unique combination of both brilliance and doggedness to figure this stuff out. Very smart people can perhaps follow the reasoning entirely but figuring this stuff out is something else. But are the greatest days in physics behind us now ? I guess we simply won't know unless somebody discovers something radically new, by accident or otherwise.

I am slowly realizing that learning a subject from historical prospective gives a much deeper understanding as compared to state pf the art, sanitized and polished modern content.

I absolutely appreciate your videos talking about experimental physics, it's sad how few good content there is in this essential part of physics

More data for Stern and Gerlach meant they needed more cigars.

8:06 there are lots of books you can get and I got that have helped me. I’m maybe one full year from being able to follow the math independently and intuitively. I’ve spent the last few years teaching myself and just last week I got to the simple derivative.
I think one of the hardest parts is the first few months when you’re basically reviewing stuff you know. *
* until you realize you don’t truly know it or you would be where you want in math so you plug your nose and re learn PEMDAS

"Bohr was right but for the wrong reasons" - as many times as that's happened in this series, I feel like it could almost be Bohr's epitaph 😆

Amazing amazing content. Thanks for elucidating how spin was almost found by accident. Thanks for explaining all the travails that Stern, Gerach and Born went through.
