  I'm old enough to remember when the Matterhorn was the tallest point in Anaheim - and we'd get so excited when we finally saw that snowy peak from the freeway!

  As a coaster enthusiast, I hold the Matterhorn in the highest of regards! I just hadn't realized how instrumental Bob Gurr was to the initial engineering process of modern coasters 😮 Awesome video!

  My parents met while working at Disneyland in the late 60s, so as a literal child of Disnelyland, I spent my early years living in Orange County, and trips to the park were frequent.  I have very fond memories of the Peoplemover, the pre-facelifted Autopia, and the old boat ride.  The thing I miss most is the Skyway and riding it through the openings in the Matterhorn.  I can still hear the sounds of people screaming on the ride,  Harold's roar, and the sound and feel of the waterfall that you passed as you travelled through the Matterhorn opening.  I understand why the changes were made, but I truly wish the current generation could have experienced the 80's and 90's version of Disneyland.

  Even though the Matterhorn destroys my spine whenever I ride it, I DON&apos;T CARE <br><br>I respect the mountains history, Disneyland significance, Walt connection, and it&apos;s sheer beauty.

  This was a fantastic documentary. &nbsp;I remember riding the Matterhorn before the caverns were installed and later trying to spot Harold while riding the Skyway. &nbsp;I&apos;ll disagree with one thing. &nbsp;The tandem seats were a wonderful thing when you took a date to the park and you got to tightly hold your girl sitting in your lap. &nbsp;It was especially appreciated if this was a first date. &nbsp;If you were too shy to hold the girls hand while exploring the park, after riding the Matterhorn you got off the ride holding hands. &nbsp;It made the Matterhorn a must do attraction at the park - as if it already wasn&apos;t. &nbsp;It was a sad day when the bobsleds returned with individual seating. &nbsp;And by the way, even with the tandem seating, each passenger still had his/her own (useless) seat belt. &nbsp;Just an adjustable length nylon belt solidly attached at one end, but with a hole in the other end that you simply placed on a hook.

  At 90+ yo Bob Gurr who was one of the primary original pioneering Disney Immagineers still hosts Bob Gurr&apos;s Walt Land Bus Tours of all the locations in and around Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Griffith Park and Burbank that served as the historical foundations of Walt Disney&apos;s residences animation studios and offices. I&apos;ve taken the tour and Bob provides &nbsp;lot of detailed narrative explaining the history of Walt Disney.

  I rode Matterhorn for the first time in July 2024 and I absolutely loved the ride!!!! It’s such a Disney classic!!! And knowing that Walt himself rode this ride makes it feel so incredibly special!

  I&apos;ve always been a huge nerd for this ride. I love how organic the track layout is to fit inside the mountain.

  When I was a kid, &nbsp;Anaheim and Orange county weren&apos;t as built up as they are today. &nbsp;You could literally see the Matterhorn from miles away. &nbsp; Coming from San Diego in our station wagon of course, we had a competition to see who could see the Matterhorn first. &nbsp;Now you can&apos;t see it until you are almost directly outside the park.
