  Just started and loving it so far. &nbsp;Everybody has clear diction so I can comfortably run at 1.5x and increase the info density. &nbsp;👍 &nbsp;It&apos;s nice to hear someone use risible so perfectly, too.

  Bakelite is also commonly known as phenolic. Invented in 1907, it still sees some use today, though filled epoxy (e.g. glass-epoxy or paper-epoxy) has largely replaced it for fabricating printed circuit boards in electronics.

  A person from Poland here<br>Yeah, we were kinda thrown under the bus by The Allies in 1939, but on the other hand - we did a lot to lose fair share of sympathy from both France and Britain. And to clarify - I am not trying to flip the narrative that Poland got what it deserved - that is not the case. All I want to mention is that Poland did not, at least couple of times, help itself in terms of relations with Western allies. And yes, I will simplify a bit, but it is more for general outlook than deep analysis:<br>1) Poland had authoritarian government that was more pre-occupied with internal fights than international environment and its changes - after an untimely death of Józef Piłsudski (hailed as the creator of II Polish Republic and the unofficial dictator of Poland, after military coup from 1926), for whom a new Constitution was prepared, the political movement around him (Sanation) fell into fights between factions, with 2 most significant being the Left (under Walery Sławek, veteran and former comrade of Piłsudski) and the Right (focused around Field Marshall Edward Rydz-Śmigły, president Ignacy Mościcki and Foreign Minister - Józef Beck). That did not do any good for stability of the country;<br>2) Polish Foreign Ministry was infiltrated by Soviets - the chief of Eastern Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs was a Soviet agent - he was a gambler and that weakness was brutally exploited. Minister Beck had no idea about Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact until the very end;<br>3) Polish sense of grandeur... - Ok, this one is a bit embarrasing, but Polish government of that time really considered Poland as a major power. I mean, it is always good to think highly of ones country, but the way it was proclaimed and navigated was appalling - French openly ridiculed Beck&apos;s claims about Poland being a major power, Polish government was expecting to be gifted a colony from France (Madagascar was discussed in Poland) and the idea to create the alliance between Poland and its Southern and Northern neighbors (so called Międzymorze) caught traction with nobody (there was only a small pact with Kingdom of Romania);<br>4) Zaolzie - This one is connected to point 3. On the side of Munich agreement, Poland took back Zaolzie (small part of Silesia) from Czechoslovakia. Was Poland justified to do it - in theory yes, as Czechs claimed this territory during Polish-Bolshevik war of 1920, using the opportunity. But this shortsightedness then bit and is biting us in the ass even today. Then, The Allies had no idea what the hell did Poland do and it is said that guarantees from Brits and French were given simply to avoid Poland getting closer to Germany (that was never a case, but it was, logically, perceived otherwise). Additionally, Czechoslovakia was allied with France, just like Poland, so any help fro Czechoslovakia would go through Poland. Maybe if Poland defended Czechs, French would also react in a different way? Hard to say. But as I said - we did not help ourselves enough and the Polish government of the time is to blame for that to some extent. <br>BR
