Man, I love this guy. Not decked out in combat gear and accessories. Just gets straight to the point. Down to earth. What a legend.

"clean it every time you shoot it" is a phrase I grew up around.

When I get a new gun, I disassemble, clean, and oil it. This helps familiarize me with the gun and it assures me it’s in good working order. After every range session, I clean it the same way. To me it’s satisfying to clean a tool after use to make sure it’s ready for its next use.

During my CCW class, a young man brought his brand new G17. He never owned or fired a gun. During the outdoor qualification shooting, his Glock malfunctioned every other round. We were shocked. The instructor disassembled the pistol, oiled it up, reassembled it and it fired flawlessly for the rest of the qualifications. Anyone who says you can just start shooting a brand new gun out of the box is gambling with their life.

17 years in the military, we cleaned our guns every time we shot them, and I'm still going it. And having a beer while I clean my guns is part of the shooting experience for me.

He's 74 years old and I have no doubt he'll still be making firearm youtube videos in 20 years

I love how Hickok says let's see if the sights are on....The sights that are ON are Hickok's. This man can shoot.

This cat picks up a gun he has never shot before and just starts ringing steel.
With pretty much any gun he touches.
Folks, that's world class shooting.

I’m always amazed at how steady his aim is. Seems like he never has to line up a shot. Once its in his sights its like his hands are frozen in place
I bet he was a problem when he used to compete

My dear, late Dad taught me to always clean a new gun before shooting it...seems to have worked all these years... 😊
