  This series has CHANGED MY LIFE. I have been casually treasure hunting ever since the premiere four weeks ago in and around Newcastle and have amassed the LIFE ALTERING sum of £5.08 so far. Including discovering a spot - that it would be against my better interest to reveal - I have termed the city’s money pit. I hope to Do The Beau and buy some fish and chips for me and my better half before with the Street Cred loot before Christmas. Wish me luck.

  The coin Idea was a pretty fun adventure to watch. I have something to consider for you: Round two in either germany or Ireland with a bottle deposit system. Finding bottles you can exchange for 25 cents gets you money rather quick. Depending on the location you could find loads of bottles.<br><br>Edit: Apparently a few countries have adopted a bottle deposit system. I vaguely remember Denmark now and I believe Norway maybe? <br>Sorry I didn&apos;t include other examples but I didn&apos;t know about them. Just mentioned the places/ systems I am pretty familiar with because of living there. <br><br>Thanks for all your input and letting me know about other places with a similar idea to bottle management.<br><br>Another Edit: <br>To address all the feedback I&apos;ve gotten for my idea. Maybe these thoughts can help Geowizard deciding if that idea is for him so I wanted to collect everything I replied so far. <br><br>1. These challenges are great because you can decide every detail yourself. <br>Some said it would be too easy in a big city. Granted. But then you can just go out in the country side. There are beautiful areas with smaller towns. I thought about walking the Grand or Royal Canal in Ireland. It&apos;s less awful than big roads and you get the occasional small town with opportunities to find bottles. <br><br>2. A fair amount said it&apos;s unfair to snatch bottles from people that depend on them. I do understand that sentiment.<br>On the other hand, Geowizard collecting 20€ on his journey won&apos;t matter too much. <br>Many people just throw away their bottles without a second thought about homeless people or the environment anyway. <br>If the bottles are put next to bins specially for people in need he can just leave them. That&apos;s the beauty about these challenges, you can set your own rules and restrictions. He does that all the time anyhow. <br><br>And if that&apos;s really an issue that he&apos;s collecting a few meals. I think the fact he raises awareness is a good compromise. <br>And if that still isn&apos;t enough then a donation to a food bank would definitely satisfy me.
