  I absolutely love the final battle Batman and Owlman have on Crisis. One of Batman’s best lines, “We both looked into the abyss. But when it looked back, you blinked.”

  "His nihilism became the ultimate form of narcissism." I never thought of it like that but you're right. Owlman couldn't handle being one of an infinite variants and made a choice no one else could make. What a contradictory man, thinking that life is meaningless but wanted to be the ultimate meaning, literally.

  Owlmam has to be one of the most terrifying villains ever conceived. He is Nihilism taken to the extreme. He was willing to die and kill everyone in the multiverse just to prove that free will is a lie.

  You got to respect His conviction though. Instead of saving himself he just said "it doesn't matter" and let himself die, clingling to His philosophy until the end

  I remember one possible origin for Owlman that ALMOST was identical to Bruce's. His parents got killed by corrupt cop Harvey Bullock, so he trained for years to become the world's greatest hero. He was inspired by an owl, when one burst into his study and scratched his face. When he finally caught up to Bullock, Bullock revealed he was paid to kill the Waynes...because they were secretly rival mob bosses, muscling in on their territory. Owlman, realizing that the ideal of his parents - and thus, his reason for being a hero - was a lie, laughed in despair, and declared that nothing matters, before throwing Bullock to his death.

  Ultimate form of nihilistic personality and honestly almost committed the highest body count in all of media with his stunt of ending the multiverse by targeting the original world. <br><br>All to feel like he did something of his own free will which is funny since the real act he chose was to give up at the end as fitting of his personality

  The Thomas Wayne Jr origin for Owlman is generally not the preferred. Most fans prefer the version where he was on a similar track to Bruce Wayne but when he caught up with Joe Chill, he found out that his parents were also criminals and their murder was just a hit. And therefore... nothing matters

  I&apos;ll always prefer the origin for Owlmam from &quot;Crime Syndicate #2 (2021)&quot; than the one who&apos;s just evil and kills his parents. He was THIS CLOSE to being Batman, but when things weren&apos;t as black and white as he thought, he just gave up, saying &quot;it doesn&apos;t matter&quot;.
