  Mr Freeze in the DCAU is one the most tragic villians ever, at least in DC. He’s not doing what he does not for any financial gain, he’s doing this because he loves his wife. It’s all she has left.

  It’s genuinely really fucking impressive how the BTAS crew were able to transform Mr. Freeze from a goofy gimmick villain to being a genuinely tragic, compelling character with one of the best character arcs out of any Batman villain ever. Retcon so fucking good, DC literally decided to make it the norm for him within the Batman mythos.
