I bought it from Mark at Movement Automotive. I'd specifically asked him to keep an eye out for a Defender for me, told him I wanted something that would make a great base for a proper build. He came back with this one — Galway Green, 2011, 90. It looks a little bit tired on the surface, the kind of truck a lot of people would scroll past, but that's exactly why it's a great base project. It's actually structurally sound, which is the bit that matters. Everything else — the tired paint, the interior, the general "it's had a hard life" look — that's all fixable, and that's the whole point of this series. I think this is a project a lot of you watching are going to relate to. It's not a concours restoration and it's not a barn find that needs a miracle. It's a genuinely usable, structurally solid Defender 90 that just needs the right amount of time, money, and patience putting into it — which is probably closer to most people's reality than the perfect unicorn trucks you see on some channels.
