Brain fog got so bad in menopause I genuinely worried I was developing early cognitive decline 😩 I couldn’t remember names, lost my train of thought, and felt exhausted all day. Memory supplements didn't help. Then found the Hormonal Reset Protocol by (Emma Wells) mentioned in a group. Fixing my gut and hormones cleared my mind completely, dropped 28 lbs, and brought my sharp focus back. Worth checking for sure.

It's my greatest fear. I would rather not be here if I cant think. I'm a double amputee and I still am totally independent. That's how much it means to me.

Forgetting where you put your keys is acceptable. Not knowing what the keys are used for is the problem.

My grandfather died of Alzheimer's. I'm not entirely sure how old he was, maybe early 80's. My mom is now suffering from it quite badly at 75. It scares the shit out of me. I don't know if my grandfather had siblings, but my mom's 3 siblings do not suffer from it, so maybe it's not a foregone conclusion for me. I try to eat well, sleep, exercise.. I'm usually not stressed, and I love reading in my spare time. My mom was socially isolated and just rotted in front of a TV for years. She had no hobbies or friend groups. I think the loneliness is what got her.

According to breathwork experts, the meditation at 15:05 is: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 2 seconds, and exhale for 6 seconds. That extended exhale not only relaxes you, but it also increases heart coherence with the field.

I have severe PTSD, and beyond SSRIs, SNRIs and the same, tired therapy loops, there's just not a lot out there. PTSD is about stress response (it's in the name) and chronic stress means inflammation, which means the systems that do the mopping up take a huge hit, including glial cells. So now what supports glial cells and their functioning? Thankfully, the same exact things that give us a healthy lifestyle: sleep, diet, exercise and stress management, and for the brain, constant learning. Clearly, sleep and intentional dietary choices need to be more frequent and amped up, but it's the same framework. Thank you for this. You provide a lot of jumping off points for creating an even more nuanced approach to fighting my PTSD.

Chronic stress from social media. It continually triggers emotions, not much thinking going on.
