Competing manufacturers taking apart a car has been the normal procedure by other companies in the motor industry.for many years. In the 1970s I had a Datsun 120Y. My new neighbour who worked for Ford engineers knew more about my Datsun the the dealership

The narrative that as late as 2017 China still copy Japanese engines are all but wrong. In 2018, Geely purchased Malaysia Proton and supply the technology to make modern ICE engines. Today Geely make the best and most efficient ICE engine in the world that far exceeded the standards of the west and Japan. The Chinese also control and dominate the EV technology without any western or Japanese input. Thanks to the west and Japan that still sleep in arrogance and underestimation.
